220M wheels on 35is
My buddy with a 2011 E93 M3 (220M) wants to switch wheels with my 2011 35is (326M). Anything I should look out for/need to know? Comments/suggestions?

Yeah keep the 326m.
He'd have to offer to switch the whole package to get me to even think about it.

I have a 220M set as my Winter Setup ... before it was my Winter Setup on my Z4 35i ... works fine just on the M3 the 18 inch square set of 220M look a bit lost.

Thank you for all the input! Don't get me wrong, I love the 326Ms on my Z. The swap was just an idea, and it would be interesting to see an M3 with 326M -- and a Z4 with 220M (not too many of this combo on the road)
We'll see what happens... |

They woudl be the 326M we are talking about, and the cost varies by country. Here we get taxed about $5,000 to option them instead of the standard 18 inch rims.

I only purchased the 220M set of wheels for the winter set when I drove my Z4 35i since it was a good deal at the time. I did not mind the ///M on the wheel for the winter time. Now they come in handy for my M3 as a winter set they are 18" wheels with Michelin ICE winter tires all 4 corners the same size.

I'm not really feeling the look of seeing a Z4 with 220M wheels. I have the two wheels you talked about but would never think of swapping them with each other.

(just logged onto a computer and saw you were from here - the iPhone app hides that info) I've been seeing quite a number of Z4's around the western suburbs lately, is one yours? (There are even three in the carpark under my building.) If you are quick, the BMW club of Queensland is having a happy lap morning at Lakeside on Australia Day. Its only $25 including a cooked breakfast, but only available to members and it sells out fast. (Membership is only $60 PA). Great fun, I will have the Z4 and possibly the X3 there as well. I believe that here the 326M are only available if you option the M Sport package first, which adds a few thousand to the cost before you add the 326M option. I bought the last available 35is on the first boat back in June last year, it was already optioned with everything except the TV, so I had no say in it except for the price I haggled. Just lucky I suppose. If you were referring to the X3 wheels in the profile shot, they are the M Sport 19" option, but I think they were only a couple of thousand (after adding the M Sport package). I'm not a big fan of the asymmetrical design of the X3 wheels, I only optioned them as they looked easier to clean than the standard 18" design in the M SPort package.
