Stalkers?
More like admirers, I guess. Since I got the Z4, several times I've noticed high-school aged kids following me around. One particularly audacious pair actually followed me into my gated community, which became a bit awkward for them when the security guys stopped them, wanting to know WTF they were doing. It's all rather amusing. Is this car so good-looking that it merits paparazzi-like attention? This is Atlanta, so I think not, since every 2nd or 3rd car is a Porsche, Aston-Martin, Ferrari, or some other such thing.
Anybody else getting this kind of [unwanted] attention? Michael |

No staliking so far, but admiration on a regular basis, which I don't mind especially from pretty women!

If you were driving an S2000, I'd say they're probably trying to figure out where you live so that they can steal the seats for their Civic. Not sure if the Z4 suffers from the same curse.

Surprisingly I do as well sometimes. Girls on the street would scream out and once there was a schoolbus full of kids cheering on. You'd think we were driving lambos or something. Weird. Luckily it's been positive feedback.
A laughable moment was when I just got the car so I was very freakish about where I parked, etc. I was going back to my car in the lot and I saw this dad and daughter making a beeline to my car, almost running. I was like wth...anyways, I got there and he said he just wanted to check it out...thought that it was the new Chrysler Crossfire! LOL. C'mon, confusing a Z4 w/ a Crossfire?? |

One of my female friends always wants to come for a ride with the top down. She says its her bimbo inner self expresing itslf.
She lectures physics at uni - so i humour her. Quite a few women come over and admire the car in car parks and at petrol stations. Some want their photo taken in it. Not many get passed that hurdle. Its a bridge tooo far in my book. Elle McPherson might twist my arm though - but she can buy her own....

Yesterday some guy that supposedly lives in my neighborhood followed me all the way home. I considered not pulling into my driveway so he wouldnt know where I lived but it was during the day so I did. He actually stopped to ask me about the car but Idk, it was a bit sketchy. He said he was ordering a 2012 and yet knew almost nothing about the Z4. Oh well, the car is staying pretty stock anyway. I dont worry about people stealing my mods. :P

During our road trip we stayed with a friend who lives in a very sketchy area. On the second day we were followed by a Prius. As I was parking the car the guy raced down the street, did a 180 and raced back stopping next to our car. I was half expecting guns to be drawn at this point. However, turns out him and his wife were having a bet what the maximum on the speedometer is. She was way off with guessing 220 he came a lot closer guessing 170.
Anyway, to answer the OPs post. Yes, you do get lots of attention in this car. |

So far it has been decent, people give thumbs up and take pictures, I wonder if there is a way to find those pictures online? My plate is German and people always ask how I get away with it... I just do lol mind you I think my luck might be running out...

When I drove my first ever BMW (e28 535is 1987) people followed me into chopping centre parking lots, left me there business card and asked me to call them if I would sell the car.
I never did sell that car passed it on to a family member it is still running well. My Z4's got complements and I found on occasion people followed me (just to get a good look from all sides). This no longer is the case now with my m3 most people don't know the difference between a m3 and a 3 series I find (and I like it that way).

I got alot of attention from the Traffic Police when I drove my car into Malaysia. Was stopped on the highway few months back and the TP tapped my window and asked me to bring it down. He smiled and commented, "fast car huh, going at 140km/h rt?". I shrugged my shoulder and denied, "No way, I was definitely within the speed limit (110km/hr)". Then he added, "How can it be! I had a hard time catching up with you".
