Hello everyone,
I am hoping you can shed some light on this product I found on AliExpress. When purchasing my X1, I was stupid enough not to check if it had electric folding mirrors. My wifes 2012 Mazda 2 has electric mirrors and I find it infuriating that mine doesn't have them. I just assumed that they came as standard on these. Anyways, I've seen some threads on retrofitting the original ones, meaning buying original folding mirrors and have them swapped. But I find this to be quite expensive. €600 for the mirrors and someone to install them will easily reach close to 1k. I saw these on AliExpress. Has anyone tried them before? I cannot find any information online or any reviews. I know they seem abit tricky to install but I reckon if I can save on the kit and convert the ones I have, I can spend that money on the installation and potentially save myself some $$. Any help or info would be appreciated ! Thanks |

It's hard to tell from the photos if they are trying to copy the OEM method or if they are doing a ghetto solution. I use Chinese trims and gadgets in my car, but nothing that I want to last long and to work/look as original. If it's not designed to interface with the OEM LIN bus and CAN bus, you may also get errors as well.
Again, can't tell from a photo what it does and how. But there are mega-threads in the F30 forum where they OEM retrofit non-folding to folding, 6-pin to 5-pin mirrors.
