do most BMW owners like those floating BMW wheel center caps? (not the cheap imitation ones from eBay... but the "genuine" BMW floating caps sold at BMW dealer parts department)

I love ‘em! There’s just something about walking out to the car after a long day at work and seeing all four center wheel caps on my M2 matching and right side up. Ahhhhhh.

Probably tells you something about my personality.

I was rolling a new set of wheels around my garage this afternoon. They arrived with floating center caps. I was amused. The BMW cap always stayed upright no matter where I rolled the wheels in the garage. Until I noticed that my next door neighbor was watching me being silly.

I like them, but I haven't been able to convince myself to pay that much money for what is essentially four simple bits of plastic. Perhaps one day...

I finally treated myself to a set of "floaters" - found them on Amazon for $115 (at the time, and from an actual BMW dealer(!) selling them through Amazon. Seemed like a small price to pay considering my investment in the vehicle.

My only complaint is that I'm not able to watch them when driving.

Not really.
They are just silly eye-candy.
But there is a market for every type of bling-bling.

100% this. Cures my OCD.
For anyone saying ‘logo points to the valve stem’ - the caps rotate after hard driving, especially on RWD cars. If you have OCD, this will drive you nuts.

How much? I didn't see it separate on the option list.

Many years ago a friend of mine used to put a dab of silicone adhesive on the inside to prevent rotation. He was definitely OCD.

He put the silicone adhesive on the traditional (non-floating) wheel caps because as mentioned above, they do rotate after hard driving. He was OCD and always wanted the logo to point to the valve stem.
