amp or head unit replacement
I have increasing but intermittent distortion in the sound system of my E89 ('11 35i with Prof'l DSP). Not sure of a way of knowing whether it is from the head unit or the amp. From the sound of it, I don't think it is the speakers. I'm wondering if others have had similar issues with either part. Basically it is unlistenable at times in the present state, so exploring the options. I am wondering whether looking for used OEM electronics is worthwhile or whether I realistically will need to take the plunge with a custom install, presumably at much greater expense and messing up appearance. A plug and play replacement/upgrade would be even better, but past posts have referred to Bavsound, for example, and their site only shows speaker options for my car, not electronics. Thanks for any insights.

I'd imagine its more likely to be the amp getting tired..there are now plug n play options for the 677 but they are AFAIK pretty expensive//I'm going down the Audiotec Fischer route
https://www.audiotec-fischer.de/en/m...fiers/up-10dsp An earlier version was marketed in the US for 676 amps under one of the US brands..
