iDrive Rattle
I searched 'idrive rattle' and found nothing useful
I noticed my iDrive, opened or closed, rattles a lot Took it in 2 weeks ago, they said the sound was being caused by the glove box and they lubed it up etc and it went away it was back the other day, i dropped the car off today strange thing is that when i put my finger on top of the iDrive screen, it stops...so it doesn't make sense for it to be the glove box anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Mine is pretty tight. I had a rattle coming from my glovebox too. I ended sticking some felt pads in the latch holes. The biggest rattle came from my courtesy mirrors. The dealer installed some felt tape up there to keep the noise down.

Nope, I get a rattle in my idrive screen as well. Its really annoying, but only seems to happen when the screen is open. And its actually not that loud...but when the radio is off, you can definitely hear it.
I put my finger on the corner of it, and it disappears, just you have have found. Never thought of bringing it in for that reason, but might consider now... Otherwise, might just try to fix it myself. No-one else experiencing this? |

I can't make sense of it... Anyone have an idea why it does this? More noticeable when it's opened too

I had the same rattle from the screen - on mine it came from the right-hand side and was audible when it was up. Amazing how such a little ticking sound can drive you crazy! For a while I even programmed one of those 8 hot keys to close the screen when I couldn't take it!
Realised one day that if I let the screen open - and then nudged it literally half a millimeter closed that it went away. Rather than push on the top I would gently squeeze my finger on the bottom right of the screen between the bottom frame of the revolving screen and the plastic housing. Did it a couple of times and the ticking sound went away and hasn't returned since. |

Plus, your engine runs rougher when cold, causing vibrations to make things creak.
