I haven't driven more than a 20 mile stretch on the freeway. My driving is around town and up/down the mountain where I live. Maybe that's why I don't get 30 mpg.
One thing that might make a difference is what octane y'all are using. Here in California, it's 91 at the pump. |

i have a 3.0 and live here in the u.s. i get around 22-23 city and 28-30 hwy. car has less than 5000 miles however, so gas mileage should improve as the miles increase.

I do use premium fuel all the time, but didn't think that it should make such a big difference. Had the car 6 months now and the mpg has stayed pretty much the same throughout ( except for the first six weeks running in I was getting more mpg ) Stu |

I don't really drive it that hard too, but normally my driving is city centre so there's the answer......30 is bloody good though! |

Just drove home after picking up my ED Z4. Averaged 56.7 mph for about 100 miles and got 29.4 mpg. Car now has 112 miles on the clock.

Sorry about the delay, but i do not read this forum every day. As to how do I get 30.1 mpg (35i with DCT, 3800 miles)- Don't know specifically, but the reading is the unreset figure from purchase and most is done in trips of less than 10 miles with a 50/50 split of motorway and b roads but it does include one return trip to Frankfurt, with 155mph portions and a couple of longer trips to Cornwall! Otherwise, I do not use sport or sport+ often and tend to drive fairly smoothly!

^ my post was meant for OTAGO.
if you get 30mpg in europe, it's like us getting 25 here in the states. the imperial gallon is bigger. i average 19.2 because i use sport almost 80% of the time.

Over the first 200 miles
Driving 11 miles to work one-way; which is about 7 miles highway and 4 miles city. I have been averaging 23MPG.

That's about what I get on my commute which is about 5 miles back road, 10 miles busy interstate, and 1-2 miles city.

I'm just over 1,000kms, driving mostly city:
18 US MPG | 12.5L/100 kms | 22 IMP MPG | 8 kms/L Does mileage get better with age? Here's a good converter to use: http://www.tdiclub.com/misc/conversions.html |

I was trying to get good milage int he first 1500km... averaged 10.8 l/100km.
I did get ti down to 9.9 at one stage. Then I realised I'm tryign to save 2 litres per 100km. or about 300 litres a year. WHich is about $450. DUH! A tiny fraction of the money I spend ont he car... (cost, tyres, servicing, etc) If I consider it an accessory, I would happily spent $500 a year on an accessory that makes the car faster and louder - so PLANT THE RIGHT FOOT!!! make it loud. First (tame) track day, 9 sleeps.... Oh, and at 1800km my milage is still only 11 l/100km.
