2009 BMW Z4 U.S Pricing Released!
BMW North America has just released the U.S pricing for the new 2009 BMW Z4. As expected, there is a price increase over the previous Z4 generation, but still significantly lower than the German pricing. The entry model, BMW Z4 sDrive30i has a base price of $46,575 and the twin-turbo powered sDrive35i jumps over the 50k mark, more specifically, $52, 475. Both prices include the Destination & Handling fee. The Cold Weather package costs $1,000 for both models, while the Premium Package was set for the Z4 sDrive30i at $3,900 or $2,800 if you’re buying the Sport Package as well. The Premium Package for the high-end sDrive35i model costs $2,500. The Sport Package has a more complicated pricing scheme. If you’re buying the sDrive30i or sDrive35i without the Premium options, then the Sport Package is priced at $2,300. Include the Premium and then you’re only paying $1,900. For those of you looking for the ultimate performance on your new roadster, the 19: wheels with performance tires are priced at $1,200 (available only for the sDrive35i). The new 7-Speed double clutch transmission is available as well only for the twin-turbo engine and it will set you back $1,525. Download: |

ok, I just priced it out the way I would want it and the list price including destination will be US$63,920. Humm... I think I need to think about this and then drive it.
Edit: Thought about it. I priced some other cars equipped basically the same way and this is interesting 135i convertible - about 50K. 911 convertible. - About $106k. Boxster S convertible- 70K. SLK350 (the only folding hardtop) 65K So, no matter how you slice it, this car is priced right for what you get. Can you get a 1 series cheaper, sure. But it is a 1 series. Can you buy a Porsche for the same price. No. Can you get one for about 7K more, sure. All in all I think BMW did the right thing. Yes, it moves this car up a class (not directly targeted at the Boxster) and it opens a slot for a Z2 in the line up. BMWs strategy is to exploit niche markets. They will add a Z2, that will address the market for those that want a lighter roadster with a rag top. And likely it will be a bit more expensive than the 1 series convertible configured the same way. Last edited by 155MPH; 03-29-2009 at 09:07 AM.. Reason: added addition thoughts |

Folks, I'm outta here.
Have been undecided whether to go Z4 s35i or Corvette convertible. Pricing of the Z4 I'd want puts the Z4 $7800 over the Vette as I want it configured. That's insane. I'm not. Outta here.... |

So what's the major reason you need this over a M3 or Porsche??? This is hilarious. |

Whats pathetic is for a $52+K vehicle you dont even get power seats as a standard. I think a honda civic gets standard power seats. And for those that are going to start saying "then go get a honda civic.....a bmw is a performance vehicle that shouldnt compare to a honda" I say Shut the F up. For $52+K power seats should be standard.

I can only imagine what this will cost north of the border. In any case, those that will want this will buy it no matter what. It will definitely push folks that are on the sidelines to something else.
I was set on switching my current wheels for the Z4-35i but if I do the math, the Corvette is looking a little more tempting. I wonder what the market will drive out of BMW in the form of rebates or other incentives when these things litter the lots. Still a sweet looking ride ...

LOL, I can't stop comming here and laugh about this.
What a dumb tard BMW... Do they really think this z4 is all that good? To my eyes, there's nothing special about it. $55k+ is usually AMG or M or S territory but this z4? Ha, performance far behind those with less amenities is looking to achieve that. This is very very funny. Please give me a 07' Lotus elise & 08' E92 335i for the price of this crap shit. |

Do u have the price list for Canada?
Im wondering about the increased top speed limiter, original limiter for Z4 35i should be 155mph, so after increase, is it just removed? or increased to like 160? 165? 170? 175? becuz of the limitations of 300hp, the top speed wont be too fast even with remove. but doing 165mph is easy since 30i does 255mph too with limiter but wish it could hit 187mph/300kmh... impossible with 300hp tho hehe. With Dinan stage 2 ECU maybe... btw it's BMW's first car with increased/remove top speed limiter option. Last edited by E89.35i; 03-28-2009 at 02:56 PM.. |

I think the pricing is fine. The 3.5 is giving you similar power to the old M which was at this same number bascially, plus a retractable hardtop in a much more attractive package. The lack of features sucks but if others are turned off like you guys then it will be negotiable.
Plus if it doesn't sell you'll be able to lease for 2kdown-500month-36 months. BTW comparing this to a Corvette, LOL. That doesn't make sense on either side. Just go ahead and compare it to a HUMMMER. Good luck on the residual on a GM product. |
