I don't want to jack the OP's great news and thread, I was just messing with him about the OSU/Mich rivalry. One of the best rivalries of all sports.

What is Texas really going to prove?

That Ohio State lost the last 2 Nat. Championship games? Texas was not even close to even being considered to play those games. That OSU smeared Texas 2 years ago? That they won the year before that with a questionable call?

I know it's the cool thing for the rest of the nation to hate on OSU and bash them for the last 2 national championships. But shit, they ARE one of the best college programs this decade. I know that's a big pile of shit to swallow but it's true. All the haters need to realize that they are a great program and kids want to play for OSU because they are always in contention of playing for a title. They get the job done, and not many programs can say the same. Being #2 two years in a row is better then 99% of the rest of college football, deal with it.

Oh and Texas choked themselves this year against Tech. The college football choke bug does not discriminate.

BTW to the OP, Congrats. Michigan is a great college. The campus up there is truly beautiful and it has a decent bar scene as well. You'll have a great time thats for sure. Just don't get your hopes up on beating OSU any time soon

Might I suggest getting your buddies together and road tripping to Columbus in the fall for the Mich/OSU game. I've been to Ann Arbor for the game and you really gain a whole new appreciation for the rivalry once you've been to a game/tailgated at both venues.

Im from Louisville, KY and I have a TON of friends that went to OSU, I love columbus... its deff a great college town, I will have to say that Austin is better though. Better weather, better city, better academics.

Weather is an obvious plus, city I could care less about both, academics are prolly a wash depending on the program.

Winning random bowl games doesn't matter. If I was on those teams I would rather lose in a National Championship then win some other bowl game. You're at least playing to be #1, not just to get to get some random trophy cuz in the end all that matters are true Championships and you don't have a chance at those unless you play in that game.

I've applied to colleges that are close to home and aren't out of my league. Their good colleges and I am pretty positive my grades are sufficient for them. Also applied to an extra college just in case, as a safety. Rather go to some college then not go to one at all right? lol. How long does it usually take for a reply?
