On German-build cars - perfectly balanced.
On Mexican / South African / Bubba built trucks - who knows!

I have to agree with this. I've never had a set of tires as well balanced as the factory run flats that came with the car.

I've got to road force balancing, and it's still not as good as the factory balance.

All the BMWs I purchased new have had not required wheel rebalancing; they were set up correctly from the factory.

On the other hand, alignment was off on all of them, so that's the first thing I do when I take delivery.

I don't know, but wouldn't the rims, motors, diffs, etc be made Germany or near by Europe and arrive in shipping containers for assembly in Mexico, SA etc. Or do they actually manufacture in Mexico etc.

I had one factory tire/rim on my German assembled 335d which the dealership could not balance.

We’ve never had a problem with the stock wheels on any of the 4 bimmers we’ve owned.

Depends on the vehicle. I was in a wheel factory in the EU watching BMW wheels being produced. Same factory was making Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini, etc. But the same manufacturer also has a factory in Mexico making wheels for the US market europeans. So both.
