Understanding charging and Running the vehicle economically? Getting the most from this Hybrid. Need help to understand!

I Have owned this vehicle for about 80 days. I have run it mostly electric but I have some difficulty understanding some things shown on my vehicle and in MY BMW app on my smart phone. My last BMW was a 730LD which I had for close to 12 years. All my previous BMW's ran on diesel fuel.

So my X3 is set to be charged to 80% and would drop to 20% so I am basically using 60% of the charge. The Vehicle I charge inside my Garage.

So I start off with the vehicle charged at 80%. I do not re-plug it and recharge before exhausting my full charge. It would read some 60Km on charge (in blue)

At some point, after the electrical range is exhausted, the Vehicle automatically switches on to run on fuel. After I complete several Km like doing something like 12Km on fuel, I return to my Garage and obviously starts charging. The display at this point shows zero e-km range.

Well, the statistics in MY BMW app which I downloaded show something else.
a) Overall though the charging statistics, (have some 22 charging records yet) the state of charge is rarely 20% at the time of plug in for recharge.
b) I will dwell on this one charge event-The state of charge on this particular occasion when I depleted my full electrical charge and did the next 12Km on fuel, my app said the vehicle had a charge of 45%.

my question is this- how come during the drive and till the end, it showed a blank charge? There was no range in Km available?
so this charge was gathered in hybrid mode right? but the display says nothing about an existing charge! all statistics are attached

I appreciate if someone would take some time to explain. Many thank in advance...

I do not own this car, so maybe someone with more experience can give a more precise answer.
Hybrid batteries are quite small even if they have 90 km range. This means that a good burst of acceleration can lower its voltage, and even more if it's already close to depleted. So whenever the battery is close to being depleted, it can show as depleted depending on how big a charge draw you require from it.
The hybrid battery recharges itself from normal use of the car, so it's normal to have a higher charge than when the battery turned off. My guess is once it's marked as depleted, it won't allow use again until the percentage comes back up and it's connected to charge.

This is one of the main problems with hybrid cars that have 100 km range from the battery. The battery tends to be used too much as the car is run in EV mode for 85% of the usage time. Sadly, I've seen several friends'/family's hybrid cars with failed batteries during the warranty period due to this. It gets replaced but you tend to be afraid of using it or want to get rid of it.

From my point of view hybrid cars should only be used in EV mode below 50-60km/h (in cities mainly).
