Battery change registration
Hi all,
I’m assuming I need to replace my battery as auto stop/start has ceased (had same issue on another of my cars which was resolved by battery change) I’ve tracked down a replacement Varta AGM 800CCA 80ah which is like for like on the existing original BMW/ Varta unit but how do I go about registering the new battery in the car? Or is it a dealer job? I should add this is my 1st time owning a Z4 so bit of a novice in many respects. Thanks for any guidance here. Thx |

Best post these questions in the general forums..however..
Two concepts coding and registering Coding reflects a change in size or type registration is telling the car that a new battery of exactly the same spec as the previous one has been fitted. However..given the age of the cars there's no guarantee that the battery has been changed without due process,, So best to code and register,, A decent code reader will do that..or maybe an Iby with bmw s/w..of course BMW will do it but for serious cost!
