multi gauge options
Looking at the P3 multi gauge but wondering if there's any other options people have explored.
I can't seem to find any upgrades for the flip screen - i imagine this is too much work for anyone to have done. The idea of screen mirroring the mhd monitor came to mind if such an option was available. There's a ton of upgraded dashes it seems but not sure if any integrate what i'm mainly looking for (A/F, coolant temp and boost.) any input appreciated.

If you fit a mmi box to the idrive then you can screen mirror from the phone to the idrive screen…
I went with the id4motion instrument display for coolant boost etc..no longer available

Just have a nice phone mount?... and display things there on phone etc?
im using Carmount F3: https://carmount.com/f3/ Have that fitted to the passenger side of the row of programmable buttons... This mount is for iphone Magsafe... so if i just chill around town i throw my iphone 13 pro max on there. Its a bulky one and still it holds it perfect... If i want gauges... and as i use Cobb... I throw their Accessport V3 on there... mount comes with 2 magsafe rings that you can stick to devices that dont have that built in... so i stuck one of those rings on the back of accessport and it works... Can set upto 6 live data gauges on it and whatever parameter i want... i usually have boost PSI, hpfp PSI, coolant temp, intake air temp and lambda AFR bank 1 and bank 2 on there... Also when i had paintwork done on my car had my painter paint Accessport front panel to bodycolor aswell... little touch that ties it more to the car  brings bit of that havana brown inside... and brown also fits with the interior nicely...wood trim is brown and ivory also matches with it.So it looks something like this but better... no bulky oldstyle holder surrounding the device and holder itself at the back looks way cleaner aswell... too lazy to go to my car and take picture... but you get the idea...

Not quite what the original post is about, but I discovered something today.
When I checked apps on my screen using my MMI box, I found this. Bimmerlink on Android auto? Had to pay an extra fee to play, a whopping $10  Not much to see just "Sensor Values" and "Exhaust Flap". Sensor values are set on the phone app, I spent about 5 minutes playing with it and ended up with this (last pic). So, not exactly sexy gauges, but the app displays car info on the stock screen. I'm sure using an Android head unit would give the better phone experience, but so would a decent phone holder. Potential for a wizard app developer....? |
