Really for a manual car. Great price - can't believe no one has picked this up!

For anyone interested in an inexpensive E89 diff, note that you can put a bolted diff together that fits your car, like I did...

For posterity, this whole endeavor is to install an LSD for (in theory) cheaper than MFactory / etc. can do it (where the minimum price approaches $2500). Minimum stuff to buy:
1. A 'large pumpkin' bolted diff (these came on early E90/E92 335i cars, both auto [3.46 ratio] and manual [3.08 ratio]). The auto diffs are still plentiful on sites like eBay and likely scrapyards.
2. An LSD compatible with this differential. These start at $1000 on ECS Tuning for an MFactory helical LSD and go up from there
3. Replacement output shaft seals & pinion shaft seal
4. ??? anything else you wish to replace (heck, you could replace all of your diff's bearings to the tune of $400 and still be under budget)

With a set of BMW diff service tools, you can transplant the pinion from the E90/E92 diff housing into an E89 diff housing (yours or any big pumpkin you buy on eBay if you want to minimize downtime). Then install the LSD to the E90/E92 bolted ring gear, and you're all set!

Happy DIY-ing!
