Aux in
Hi,
My first post - thanks for reading. Has anyone installed a “Aux in” jack in parallel with the factory jack? I have an Android screen, and it annoys me to have a cable back from dash back to the Aux in jack. Thanks for any possible solutions |

You could use a y adaptor and run it through a small hole in the centre oddments tray under the centre trim..?

In short, YES
So it turns out that BMW made a USB/AUX socket that has a 6 pin plug for the AUX as opposed to the standard 4 pin. These extra pins allow for an additional input to the rear of the socket. So what I did here was to buy a lead with a 3.5mm socket on it, cut it and solder it onto the cable. This then gave me a hidden AUX socket (I placed it under the centre console) which I used for my Android screen. Alas I have no photos of my installation. Here is one of the sockets complete with the correct loom/plug that would be required to adapt... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/314213526...Bk9SR4LV4s39Yg I've attached the wiring diagrams for the standard 4 pin and the 6 pin showing the difference. 4 Pin... Pin 1 = Ground (Purple) Pin 2 = Right (White/Green Stripe) Pin 3 = Left (White/Red Stripe) Pin 4 = Shield (Possibly not connected) 6 Pin.... Pin 1 = Left (Purple) (Swap with original White/Red of 4 pin plug) Pin 2 = New Left (White) going to Tip contact. Pin 3 = Ground (White/Green Stripe) (Swap with original Purple of 4 pin) Pin 4 = Right (White/Red Stripe) (Swap with original White/Green of 4 pin) Pin 5 = New Right (Yellow) going to Centre contact. Pin 6 = New Ground (Black) going to Base contact. Like I say I did this some time ago and it worked great Hope that helps.
