But yes, if you don't like bigger sportscars, the C8 probably shouldn't be high on your list. |

Also highly unlikely we will see the ZR1 this time next year or that you will be able to get it soon after introduction for anywhere close to MSRP.

Every Corvette I see is either driven by a bald man in his 50's/60's or by a young guy who managed to make more money than most at his age. I can't stand this stereotype, but it holds true. The vette is an old mans car.
Not sure if it's because I'm becoming an old man, but if it were me. I'd go C8 all day long and then probably again tomorrow. Could care less about the Supra, I'd rather wait for Lexus's IS500 they trademarked earlier this year. The M4?.....eh, I don't care for the front end. |

Porsche has just become too expensive unless you want a Macan S or Boxster/Cayman with the base engine.
M4, face aside, is a major porker. 3800-3900 lbs does not sound like a nimble driver's car to me. I hear the C8 and Supra have issues with numb steering, but which car doesn't nowadays? The M2 is the darling of the automotive world in my eyes due to its visceral driving experience and reasonable price, but it comes with its compromises (2 doors, not incredibly lightweight, severely dated interior).

Oddball suggestion
Lotus Evora 400 C8 is REALLY hard to beat for bang for the buck though, assuming you get a placement, and in your list probably my pick as well

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...3-m4-revealed/ OP said his budget was $50k -$70k, what you are talking about is out of the budget.

Surprisingly, I've never driven a Corvette other than the older models which were nice. Do the newer models not handle as well?

Thing is: Does it handle its weight well? Because if that's the case then the size shouldn't be an issue.

True but it's not really a livable car, more like a weekend toy.
Unless OP is a masochist I don't think it'll work.

Some reviewers were saying there was understeer, but they were doing stuff to upset the chassis mid-corner that you wouldn't do when actually trying to go fast. GM knows what they are doing with handling. Drivers taking them to the limit have nothing but good stuff to say by and large. Driving my car around a course, I've gotten comments like: "I've never seen a camaro over-steer before, I thought they were just massive under-steer"-referring to older generations, mostly pre C5 Camaro stuff, which was just junk as far as handling.

GM chassis tuning is excellent however it looks like the C7 is a bit more sports car like and raw in its handling compared to the C8 which is still good but a bit softer, notably in the steering, brakes and weight gain.
