They didn’t say it and chevy has been doing the SAE thing for a long time, so I’m sure the LS7 is SAE.

Base is faster than Z51, but Z51 is only quicker to 60. If they had the same tires, I wonder if 0-60 if base would be the same as Z51.

They say the non Z51 is more slippery(less aero). Slower off the line, but makes up at end with higher trap.

One tenth of a second is silly and almost certainly non repeatable. I'd bet there's no actual straight line performance difference between the Z51 and regular.

The base also uses all season tires.

I currently have a C7 and love it. When I saw the pics of the new C8 I was in love, however then I found out they wont make it with a manual transmission so that was the end of that. I still thought it looked amazing though.

However I saw it in person at the autoshow the other day... I was a bit disappointed. Just something about it didn't sit right with me. The angles were weird, the rear was too square, almost like they jammed a camaro rear end on it however it would fit. The side scoops are abnormally large and have a weird shape to them. Part of it also stays on the door when you open it looks weird.

Best I can describe it is like a chinese knockoff. From afar it looks crazy good, but as you get closer you notice something ain't right. You can't quite pin point what it is, but you definitely know there's something off.

That is weird I had the complete opposite reaction when I saw it in person. In pictures the rear looks really flat or slab sided. When I saw it in person, you realize how curved the back end is. Overall, I thought it looked a lot more high end than the C7. C7 in my eyes now looks like another old model plastic looking Vette.

This is one of the only pics I have seen that some what shows the curve and how the tail lights wrap around. You can really see the curve in the lip spoiler above the third brake light.

That angle looks good. But when you stand right behind it I feel from the top it should look more rounded, but its very square. I guess in general it looks more rounded in pics and more square in person.

Don't get me wrong, shit if it came in a manual and they gave me one I would take it. Especially for the price I'm nitpicking. I just thought in general it looks better in pics for me.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette Pros and Cons Review: Setting a New Standard
The ‘Vette earns a place as a 2020 Car of the Year finalist

https://www.motortrend.com/cars/chev...nd-cons-review

Quote:
Figure-eight guru Kim Reynolds noted that although lap stats may trail those of analogous C7 Corvettes, the C8 feels "lightyears better," adding that "the old car was a nasty mess, but this one is a pleasure; every correction is a simple instruction that's carried out as you hoped."

Looks like MT is getting a redo with the C8.

Similar situation back when they had to test the C7 Z06 twice.

Let's not forget the Hellcat costs the same & is faster. I trapped 125 in crap weather. Yes, I know the C8 will mop the floor with me on a road course. I would sell my HC for the C8 if the C8 were better suited for winter driving here FYI & I've owned 3 Vettes so far & expect to have more in the future so not biased at all..

No substitute for a modded LS7 at WOT. I loved my C6Z. Too bad they only came in hardtop

Read that on a Corvette forum earlier today. No surprise they’re tweaking bits of the car to make it better all car makers do it. It will be a better sports car when owners pick them up from their dealers.
