Enjoyed this video a lot. This is one vehicle where I want all the details. The manual was really cool to read. Who even knew what it looked like until his video?
Doug looks like a younger Jay with a receding hairline. Same chin. Same voice. Same love for quirky cars.

Hoovie is Doug’s clean up man. He’s part of that whole “but a cheap ____, and chronicle what needs to be fixed” genre. He’s not a wrencher like Tavaris. And that whole episode with the e60 M5, came after Doug’s e60 M5 review (correct me if I am wrong)

Because Jay has said that he’s not one of these racetrack guys. He likes taking his cars out for a drive. It’s the connection he feels with them in normal everyday situations. Like he enjoyed (and was silent) during his drive of the Ferrari replica.

I'm not Leno fan but I appreciate that he actually drives his cars and lets people sit in them rather than hide them away treating them like an asset.

Doug resonates the the majority of people that actually buy the cars to use on their daily commute. He brings forth the quirks and features that an owner has to live with on a daily basis that can't be measured by 0-60 or 1/4 mile times. You can learn more about the infotainment systems in most new cars from Doug than you will ever learn from your dealer. That said I don't use his reviews as a guideline for what I look for in a car as I'm a car guy and do a lot of my own research but I do appreciate learning the quirks and hidden features of new and classic vehicles that I never got to own and nobody does this better than Doug. I use his pic as my avatar because I think he's goofy looking and even that plays into why he's entertaining as he knows he's a goof and doesn't take himself that seriously unlike some of these amateur internet car reviewers that are trying to be Chris Harris or Jeremy Clarkson. |

You don't need to be a 'racetrack' guy to have your own speedway and drive however you wish |

Was that the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX review? I remember watching that and thinking Doug can't be that young that he doesn't know what an equalizer is.

Honestly, I have no idea how Doug got so big. He doesn't seem to be very knowledgeable about cars and his "Doug score" is a joke. Not only his scorings are inconsistent, him giving such low scores is absurd. So apparently, no car will receive a 90+ score.

Think about the upkeep of a racetrack, staffing it, insurance...etc. He gets invited to drive all types of new/old cars for free all the time. https://www.cnbc.com/video/2017/08/2...ive-video.html Do you think he paid for ANYTHING in this video? See 1:50 mark of video. |

If you can afford hundreds of acres, just throw some asphalt on a piece of that, doesnt have to be full fledged racetrack, though if you see his garage and the team of ppl working for him, its not a bridge too far to pave some road while your at it |

I'd say he's decent at what he does. I haven't found anyone else who reviews the wide range of cars he does (Exotic/Supercar to your everyday premium/luxury cars/SUVs that middle to upper class could have.
His videos are quite long though and some things he says/does isn't necessarily relevant. However, that's where 1.5x speed comes in handy on YouTube.

Doug who?
Don’t like the guy, nor his so called “reviews”. He doesn’t review a vehicle, he just recite the owner manual and points the items. A reviews consists in many other aspects. Amateurism as its best. |

His reviews would be that worthless for buyers but for those who are just curious they should be fine. I'll never own any of those cars even if a miracle strikes (at longest last! ) and I can afford: no used car for me. So why would I bother even looking for a manual, not to mention reading it? To my liking his reviews could be just shorter sometimes, but they expose pretty much all I would wonder about those cars and the details he pinpoints are mostly interesting, involving. |

I don't know. It's hard to trust someone ... err I mean Doug to review a super car who couldn't take a proper corner at a race track. Besides the guy's too talkative endlessly.
