Congrats on Capital's Oveckin on his 1000th career point , he also scored twice against Penguins .That was a good game
They also won over this season's another good team Chicago Hawks beating 6-0 . Holtby claimed his 6th shutout as well as 6 goal win for his team

Yep, if they keep this up they'll be 'Regular Season World Champions' yet again. Can't wait for that banner ceremony.

I say this as a 30+ year fan.

And,now they just wiped ass with the Flyers 5-0. All good, get the hot streak over with halfway through the season.

Which has pretty much been their M.O. for the entirety of the Ovechkin era. As soon as the playoffs hit, they're gassed.

That Flyers team that they annihilated yesterday was essentially the same Flyers squad that the 2016 Caps, President's Trophy winners, could barely beat in the playoffs last year.

Again, 30+ year fan and I can already see where this season is going (again).

Washington is peaking too early

What a route of the flyers. They're tearing through teams right now...

I was right on the Leafs seems Arizona is a big mess

miserable Islanders fan checking in. is it too early for us to just tank for dem #1 pick odds?

on a related note, we finally manned up and fired our head coach. I liked his demeanor, and his post game pressers were always hilarious after an embarrassing loss, but he couldn't coach us to wins with late leads. always played too conservatively late...doesn't help that our new lines still have not gelled at all

now thats 1 big guy out and 2 more to go. GM Garth Snow needs to go. he really fucked up big time this past offseason, and has made some serious blunders in the past (Rick DiPietro, anybody? ) and Doug Weight, who will be our interim guy at the helm, fucking sucks. guy couldn't coach a fat kid to eat ice cream. I can only see it getting worse before it gets better. but there's always next season, I suppose

Dallas Stars won against New York Rangers 7-6 . Not only was it a great but also it was an entertaining game in its own complexion . Pittsburgh Penguins vs Washington Capitals game was also a cool match .
New York Rangers tried too hard to tie and win but I think their goal keeper wasn't on his day , I thought they wouldn't turn the table after 4-1 deficit but they managed to get it down to 1 goal game, however a few more unanswered goals by Dallas Stars extended to gap to 7-3 in second period . 2nd period sounded like a game score but we had a final chapter to play .
Just under 4 minutes of 20 minutes period time ,New Rangers managed to scored 3 goals in a row but that was it .
I enjoyed to listen to goal horn more than 5 times , 6 times to be exact but that wasn't enough for them to win the game

Sharks won the series 3-2 but every game was intense and close. These matches lend to hockey classics. True nail biters. Hopefully see you guys in our yearly meeting in the playoffs.

Lundquist is done. I've had it with him. For some reason we sign players to long term deals that look like locks and they always turn out to be dead weight. Girardi, Staal and now our former best player Henrik. It sucks!

Sad note - Doug Weight is not your answer, and Snow's dumb enough to sign him long term. To add to your problem, I don't think there's anybody noteworthy coming up this year.

My prediction, if Tavares goes in the off season, Snow will be gone within the hour.

Yup, seasons just about done. We should see Vigneault's head on a platter in a few weeks when were bottom feeding with the isles. Girardi, Staal and Henrik gotta get the boot. Somehow.

Oh yes, I'm well aware that Doug Weight is really more like Dead Weight, hence the "couldn't coach a fat kid to eat ice cream" line. And you're right, he is Snow's boy, and no matter how bad he is, Snow would never give him the axe.

Right again about nobody noteworthy on the come up

And if Tavares walked, not only would Snow be fired immediately, there would be a lynch mob waiting outside his office

Edmonton Oiler's Connor McDavid's is doing good , just 92nd game he managed to score 100th points, may be not that much compared to big pots currently in NHL but that's a milestone in its own right
Pittsburgh Penguins too prevailed over Montreal Canadians ,good job they also snapped 3 game wireless errr winless situation
A little detail I observed during the game was that Murphy ,goal tender not chicken tender, bravely run forward to fend off the breakaway against Canadians and guess what following that action Penguins scored the opening goal to lead 1-0 .Sometimes little details can make difference and that was a striking detail.
Montreal Canadian's Price's performance wasn't priceless either

Stat for the Pens - they are 17 goals for 5 goals against since being down 0-3 in that wild shootout with the Capitals on Wednesday.

Here's the points from games vs the Capitals / Montreal / Carolina

Line 1
Rust 1g 2a (3pts)
Crosby 1g 3a (4pts)
Sheary - 3g 2a (5pts)
Line 2
Guentzel 2a (2pts)
Malkin 4g 2a (6pts)
Hornqvist 3a (3pts)
Line HBK
Hagelin - 1g (1pt)
Bonino 1g (1pt)
Kessel 1g 2a (3pts)
Line 4
Fehr 1g 1a (2pts)
Wilson 2a (2pts)
Kunitz 1g 1a (2pts)
Defense
Daily - 1g 3a (4pts)
Gaunce 2a (2pts)
Shultz 6a (6pts)
Cole 1g (1pt)
Matta 1g 1a (3pts)

Only one's not pitching in on the scoring are the goalies.

I know it's only regular season - but it's nice to have 4 full lines and 6 D that can put the puck in. Also note that Dumoulin, Letang, and Cullen are on IR, so we have a few guys from the AHL adding to this.
