The poll inquiring about the age groups is interesting but I find Z4 owners may have more common than other BMW owners because it's niche car appealing to a very select group of consumers. Reason I'm preparing to take delivery of my third Z4 is value... you get a lot of performance and style in a sports car for the money.

Interesting: lease vs buyer.. We could see there are many leases in US when maybe more buyers in other countries. Leases seem cheaper in the US and thus Z4 seem more accessible. |

It would be tough to move out of the US and have to pay USD$100k for a Prius (i.e. Singapore) |

average age
interesting
I was under the impression that the average owner would be a bit older. I just turned 51 a few months ago and trade the 135 for the Z4/28. Yes, i do miss the power and torque of the 135 but on the other hand I love the convertible Z4. WE also have a lot of lease in Canada. Compare to the US market our BMM are about 10 to 15% more expensive a Z4/28 loaded is about 67K. For that kind of money in the US you can have a big one /35. I love the car and the convertible. To all of you....have great summer and drive safely. Hyper1 |

Wow, interesting results. If for no other reason than the wide age spread of owners. It would be really interesting to know percentages of lease/purchase and new/pre-owned by age group!

2011 bought 2004 E85 2.2 when I was 28. It was my dream car and bought it as reward for myself. Cost about $28k
2014 bought 2010 E89 35iS for my 32nd birthday. Price in Finland was about $55k |

What I was alluding to is who's leasing new and who's buying used, by age group. I suspect the lease crowd might be skewed to younger drivers while us old farts are content to wait and take advantage of depreciation. Just a hunch. And I think the E89 is more relevant here than earlier models.
