HPF is flow rated to support 650 rwhp. No idea how the others are evaluated.
Mine could be available for a premium.$$ Vivid racing sold all of hpf remaining stock of fmic. Contact the source of the hpf fmic in portland. They might make one for you. Excellent product. http://www.lab22.com/

There was a test on the 1-series forum for the 135i and it was found the Wagner actually performed worse than all other IC's and marginal compared to stock even.
Here is one that failed http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=831783 And here is the test: http://mosselmanturbo.com/uploads/me..._Mosselman.pdf |

(1) Tests were not on a Z4 = different intercooler (2) Tests were done by a manufacturer in the competition (3) The spelling/grammar used in the testing is pretty bad I wouldn't trust that. But even if I took it as pure 100% accuracy, my Wagner is doing it's job, keeping the temperature less than my stock one did, even when tuned for a higher output. |

Does any one else think its fishy Mosselman claims that a larger bar & plate performs with improved end tanks is WORSE than a small tube & fin? My Wagner fit like a glove. I just can't imagine it being worse than stock when every aspect is an improvement over stock. I'm planning on getting a dyno test in the new future and can post up numbers. We'll see!

Also, we do not know what tune is running.
Cobb themselves says you can't run stage 1 FMIC aggressive with stock intercooler. The number just don't add up on their graph. 1. The stock fmic is performing VERY close the aftermarket to the point its hard to believe, or justify getting/needing an upgrade. If this was a modified tune, how could they run a stock FMIC when every tuner requires an upgrade for the high boost tunes? 2. Engine torque over 550 from 2400-3500???? Cobb stage 2 FMIC would make 450 MAX for a 135i. Come on now… Lets cut the BS….

At the end of the day, if you're happy with it and everything is working, it was worth it. Btw, when you have a tune that requires an upgraded IC, I believe they increase the boost to offset the increased resistance of the bigger IC and add fuel because the cooler air is more dense and can burn more fuel. The engine would still run with a stock IC, but would likely run too hot and the air/fuel mixture would be off.

So, for example, whereas 10 psi of pressure might be reduced to 8.5 psi after going through the OEM FMIC, you might be left with 9 or 9.5 psi after going through an aftermarket FMIC. This is typically due to the improved flow characteristics of the aftermarket options, in particular the end tanks. If so, this means the turbo does not have to create as much pressure on the front end to achieve its intake psi targets. |

Tiago@VRSF- "It actually isn't the same fin pack but they obviously copied the end tanks. We replaced one with our 7" a while back @ the shop and I compared it to a Wagner I had in stock, it's definitely not the same manufacturer."
