Winter Wheels
I have no clue how to tell what size winter wheels/tires will fit on my E89. My father in-law has a set of winters he used on his 08 TT. The tires are 235/45 17's. Any help to determine if they will fit the Z4? I'm not optimistic, but thought I should check since they would be free.
Thanks! |

The believe the OEM front size is 225/45/17 so you could probably take the tires and put them on different wheels.
You need to find out the bolt circle pattern and the offset to see if the wheels will work. |

Total noob as far as this goes. The wheels have the same number of lugs as my Z4. I did take a couple of pics of the inside of the wheels. Some stamped numbers in there....would these give me the offset?
Sorry if these are dumb questions. Never bought rims before. |

Thanks everyone. Looks like a no go. I still have my wife's old Volvo for winter use, so will prob just leave the Z in the garage. Wouldn't have passed up the wheels if they fit simply because they were free.
Thanks again |

Bump for answer. Anyway, I noticed that the dealership pumped mine up to F/R 36/40. Should the rears still have higher pressure regardless? I run 17s in winter. Thx.

I can't find my copy of the owner's manual, but I recall there are recommended pressures for many combinations of tires. I think the there is a recommendation for 225/45R17, squared in there. That seems like a great starting point of the setting...
