Is anyone else having trouble initiating launch control?
(Edit - explanation) I'm new to the world of e89 but I have searched several times and I do believe I'm doing this correctly to no avail... Stop, Sport+, M1, both pedals... and nothing. Is there a certain order in which this needs to be performed? I thought (after reading some people's comments) that it was because "break-in" had not finished, however I reached 1100 miles today and tried it again before typing this message. Nada.

yes indeed, if you have the 35i(is)/DCT you have launch control
1) sport+ 2) traction turned off 3) sport shift (click left) 4) Manual 1 5) left foot on brake and right foot pegs the accelerator 6) computer will hold the RPM at 4k 7) checkered flag will come up between tach and spdmtr 8) let go of left foot/brake and keep accelerator pegged I think that is the sequence - it takes much less time to do than it took me to write down for you. Ahhh! Traction Control off... I think that's my missing step. Thanks!

I think the official break in period is 1200 miles (it's in the manual, too lazy to look it up right now). If launch control doesn't work for you, you may need to drive another 100 miles or so.
Also, I think the car needs to be sufficiently warmed up. |

Thank you... I tried it again today and still nothing. The irony is that I'm not the type to ever use it but the lack of ability to figure it out has been bugging me. LOL. Thanks, I'll check it out in another few clicks.

Got it. 1200 must have been the key. Didn't realize how much rubber I'd lay down. A few more runs and I'll have a good excuse to replace those RFTs.
Thanks all.

Yeah, that may have been my problem too. All the way to kick-down territory.

Just because I don't really know, when you say "clutch dump" it's going from no clutch to full clutch without hesitation? Like getting the motor up to 4k, and just totally release the clutch and hold on? Or is there more finesse to it? The other poster said something about "feathering" which I also don't understand. Thanks.
