Are you using 98RON fuel (or the NA equivalent?)
I find that I use a lot less when I get a good batch of 98 RON, than when I fill up with a 95 RON (minimum spec fuel). Regrettably, we cannot get the 100RON here as easily as we used to.

I'm using 91 octane up here in Canada, not sure how that translates into RON.

to fellow Canadians> Is 91 fuel good enough as I've seen 94 at some Petro-Canada pumps. Not sure if it makes a diff. I know using 89 is not good for the car in the long run. |

Hey Tranquility,
I usually stick with Shell V-Power (91), but do sometimes fill-up with Sunoco's (Petro-Can) 94. I haven't noticed any difference between the two really, so generally just stick with the V-Power 91 Dave EDIT: meant to add that I've been able to keep mine under 10L/100km when highway driving. City on the other hand, right around what you're getting....11L/100km.

I'm presently using 91 @Petro-Canada...is there any diff vs Shell's 91? I guess you believe Shell's 91 is the best for the car? Thx, Dave. |

Tranquility, I am definitely not a fuel expert. Unfortunately, I couldn't tell you if Shell VP is any better than Petro's or Esso's for that matter. I generally fill-up with the Shell VP because there's a HUGE station right near my place & never any waiting!
There are a ton of articles on the subject, out there to read up on. I just don't have the patience (or technical background) to plow through all that information. Frankly, I think any fuel you buy in Canada from a Tier 1 reseller, at the 91+ rating is going to be very suitable for your car(s). Merry Christmas Tranquility! Dave

~2000 miles Whatever my Fuelly badge says. IMHO Fuelly is great for keeping track of your mileage compared to others. We could use more E89s in their DB! |

My 35i usually hits my target/goal of 21mpg in the city. My last road trip from LA to Monterey I got 33.1mpg going up with some air conditioning and roof up. Coming back I got 35.0 without any a/c. 65/70 mph average speeds.

Still getting 11.0 litres per 100km.
Still driving it like I stole it. 22,000 kms down. 35is. Life is short. Fuel is cheap. Fun is the answer.
