Dealer service w/ flash?
Just installed the Cobb flash. My car is due for service, and im just curious how that works. Do you uninstall the tune before taking it in, or can the dealer even tell? (if they dont drive it)

Dealer definitely can tell if flash tune is installed.
car will fail programming (many things can require a reprogram, such as calibrating wear sensors for brake pads) if there is a flash tune. seems like most owners who post on the forums uninstall |

The dealership will only be able to tell the flash is there if they drive the car.
I think Nick was getting confused with a piggyback which will cause comms failures to modules in the car when they try and plug it in to ISID. It is best to remove the flash though. If your DME is out of date they will flash a new stock ROM over it and you will lose the tune. Not sure how the COBB works in that scenario but you may lose the pair between the car and the COBB unit. |

The dealership will be able to detect the installed Cobb flash tune if they plug into the car for programming. The car will fail programming of a new DME if there is a Cobb tune installed when they try to program. As we all know, uninstall takes 10-15 minutes, so it isn't a huge effort... |
