New front lip spoiler: Need tips on not trashing the damn thing

My wife has predicted that my new front spoiler won't last a month before I run into a high parking curb, or come down a steep incline and blast the fiberglass spoiler into two or more pieces. Part of me is afraid she's right. I've never had one before, so are there any tips I should be aware of besides basic common sense?

Haha. I've got the spoiler too. I've found that going in/out of parking lots is the most common spot for a steep incline that'll cause it to bottom out. Normal speed bumps aren't an issue as long as you hit them at reasonable speed.

Just take it easy for the next 30 days so that you win the bet!

I agree with you about parking lots and certain gas station exits in my area take a steep dive before they hit the street. I was just wondering if there other likely culprits (besides those concrete risers at the front of parking spaces in lots) that I should look out for.

I suggest parking in reverse and also to hault to a stop when coming to a dip or exiting/entering a parking lot.

Two good suggestions. The second one's better.

Thank you.

Reverse park isn't always the answer. I've found my rear end of the F30 to be lower than my e90 and won't clear all parking curbs so BE CAREFUL. Best thing to do is to just stay home. That way you won't get dinged, AND you'll get bjs.

Take any dip or incline at an angle, never straight on. If you don't back up to spots, then pull in and stop and get out and look. It makes you look crazy, but who cares?
