Service Reminder Reset

Can I clear the "Service Reminder" warning using bimmercode?

I took my 2020 M550 to the dealer this week for an oil change & air filter change & they wanted to charge me $125 to reset the service reminder light. I just moved to Jacksonville (and do NOT recommend Tom Bush BMW). My dealer in Houston always reset this for me whenever I came in (with this car and all 5 prior BMW's).

I refused to get ripped off by any car dealer.

Specifically, I need the "vehicle check" reset, not the oil service

Follow all the steps shown in the video for the oil change except just hold down the button when the “vehicle check” option comes up on the odometer.

That video doesn't pertain to a 2020 running ID7 Lite. I use Bimmerlink but I know it's possible through the "hidden" menus.

Last time I did mine I used ISTA+ as I had it open anyway, but it is lot easier to just fire up BimmerLink, it also keeps a counter of your resets...

OK I just stumbled across the instructions for how to reset the service counters on a 2020+ G30 without using any external tools. I haven't done this myself since I use Bimmerlink, but I just tried it and it seems to work:
  1. Enter diagnostic mode (triple-press start/stop without depressing the brake pedal. Wait for "Diagnostic Mode" to appear.)
  2. Press and hold the ">BC" button on the turn signal lever for about 10 seconds until the first maintenance window appears. Release the button.
  3. Cycle through to the desired service by briefly pressing the ">BC" button until it is reached.
  4. If a service reset is possible for the selected service, "Reset Possible" will appear. If not, you will see "Reset Impossible."
  5. Reset the service by pressing and holding ">BC" for three seconds. You should see a "Reset successful" message.
