Rear ended in my F30, damage estimates?
Hi everyone, got rear-ended in my 2014 335i Xdrive.
The rear bumper will need to be fixed - looks repairable but depends on the shop. Quarter panel will need to be replaced theres a small dent close to the rear door in the quarter panel as well. The lower side skirt popped out a little bit and has a small hardly notice crack. The wheels also is pushed forward with more toe in. The upper control arms are bent, frame and lowers look fine. Maybe some sway bar damage. I'm wondering if this damage totals out a car? If it's not totalled out, is there any other parts that could have been impacted such as the wheel bearings? Also shop recommendations in Vancouver, BC would be appreciated! |

Oh man... these are the worst - side impact with damages to suspension... I believe the repair will be very costly, esp for 2014. I'd look for a very reputable shop at the end - all chassis dims need to be verified as there is a chance that there is a sideways shift in chassis. Be ready for insurance concluding that the car is a write off, imho. Good luck.

Yeah, insurance company requested some pictures to determine if its worth repairing. Looking for the best shop if they do decide to repair, but by the looks of it I won't have my car back for 2-3 months with the times to get into the good repair shops. One shop I discussed with said it's most likely leaning towards a write off due to the suspension and the cost of rental vehicles. Unfortunately its hard to find clean F30s in my area, might have to wait a year and hope theres more reasonable priced F30s in the market, if insurance totals the car out |
