Current G80 Xdrive market

Hello all,

I am seeking information regarding recent M3 Xdrive sales. I see few cars available nationwide for anywhere near sticker. Does anyone know...are these cars actually selling for 10-20 over sticker or are people and dealerships just hoping? If so, does anyone personally actually know of one selling over MSRP?

Yes, some people are definitely paying above MSRP for showroom models. In the current market, you can choose either to place a deposit and wait (3-6 months), or you can pay market adjustments. With enough persistence and luck and flexibility on options (and/or a broker), you'd probably be able to find a reasonable deal.

I was able to get an allocation from my preferred dealership at MSRP. I've worked with them a bunch in the past and they came through. Another local dealer also offered me MSRP, but I'd have to put a deposit down and get in line with no way of knowing when my allocation would hit (estimated in the fall), and they wouldn't do any better than MSRP. I went with my preferred dealership and the ordered has been placed!

The other dealers that I shopped (I'm in Los Angeles) were all asking at least $10k over MSRP no questions asked. Farther out from the center of a big city you get, the better deal you will likely find, as demand is just a bit lower.

Definitely doable at MSRP, from what I can tell!

I contacted my CA on 11/16/2021 and got an allocation and build date that day for a G82 X-Drive. The car arrived on 1/26/2022. MSRP.

I have a good relationship with my dealer, a few M cars and a few non-M cars purchased through them. They didn't take my deposit.

It's all over the place…

The dealer I worked with for my original F80 reached out to me for a trade in and upgrade; contingent upon I spend $88K on a new M3. No thanks

My local dealer who has serviced my F80 for 4 years and also purchased a used car from them. They said, wait list and I'm 6th and they need $1000 deposit.

I randomly call a dealer in West Virginia they do a east coast search and refer me to a dealer in Connecticut that I have never dealt with.

I call them; I get an allocation at 11:00am

I go in at 5:30pm they tell me; $1,000 deposit and they have to run credit.

They come back 5 minutes later. Don't worry about the deposit you're good!

I place my order and just waiting on a March delivery

Actually that's what happened to me. They gave me a credit app and deposit form. Credit came back and they never even bothered to collect the deposit. I asked about it and they basically said, they didn't need it!

880 credit score ftw

I'd rather pay the deposit than have a useless hard inquiry on my credit. They will likely run your credit again when you take delivery because it will have been longer than 90 days.

Then again if you're not planning on making any other major purchases for 2 years, who cares. I buy too many cars to take unnecessary hits to the credit

Sounds like you're thinking of selling your M3 once it arrives. Some forum members here have done so. The market is a lot stronger (and always will be) on the West and East Coasts than here in the Midwest. But for the right price and spec, a buyer on the coast will buy and have it shipped, from wherever the car is.
