first long rode trip

Went to a wedding in Vermont from LI. Three buddies, three different cars.

Mine 335i coupe. sports, 6mt average mpg going 32, coming home 28.

First friend 328i sedan auto average mpg going 31 coming home 29

Second friend chevy malibu 4 cylinder auto average mpg 33 going, 30 home.

Took the second friend (chevy) for a ride on the back roads. He could not believe the refinement, handling, and raw power.

First friend tells everyone at the wedding he has the same car as mine. (I did not comment)

I had a big smile on my face the entire time! Good wedding, great road trip.

Except a "rode trip" would take you straight down to a boat's anchor (that's what a "rode" is)

I did a Road Trip from Gothenburg to Sorrento in Italy 2 years ago. My old girlfriend (who lasted for less time than the car - happily....) and I decided to do the trip by road as the car was new then. We did 6200kms in 2 weeks and drove across Europe - mostly on Autobahn etc at high speed - cruising at around 200-220kph for long stretches.... and driving in Italy in up to +40C - car was superb and never missed a beat. Pity the Italian drivers weren't a bit more careful with my car.... got parking scars from 5 different occasions - ah well insurance paid up...... Overall economy was around 45mpg - great trip and fantastic countries.... look forward to the next one.
