OEM Staggered Tires - Winter Tire Replacement

I'm looking at buying a set of winter tires for the season since my FY 14 335i M-Sport came with staggered summer tires and 19" wheels.

I was originally going to buy a new set of wheels and tires to swap them out as appropriate each year, but now I'm leaning towards just taking off the summer tires, keeping those until it warms up again, and putting on the new winter tire rubber on the existing wheels.

My question, do I have to get a staggered set up for this? Will just a single tire size fit on those wheels?

I'm not looking to spend an arm and a leg on a new set of winter tires, I just need a reliable set that'll last through the winter.

Go onto tirerack.com, choose your tires. Check the Spec tab for width of wheels a particular tire fits on. (Generally, choose the front tire size from the suggested list and see if it will fit on the width of the rear wheel.)

I run Blizzak LM-60s 225/40/19 square set-up on the OEM 19" Staggered wheels and it works wonderfully in the wintertime. Only thing I've noticed though is stretching the rear tires exposes the lip of the wheel which with road debris will cause blemishes to the lip.
