E46 M3 Zcp Rims On E89
Hey guys i have a question about running e46 rims on Z4 e89s. I did the compute on the Wheel and tire forum and below are my results. I did some search and i know the m3 E9X fenders way larger compare to ours and one of forum member Mdosu said those who did wish to run m3 e46 ZCP rims on e9X m3s will need a huge spacer in the front to make it flush to the fenders. Will i have the same issue if i run the E46 rims on the z4? Thank you guys for the advice. Sorry new to wheel fitment.
Mdosu :contact Technic here on the forum, last time i talked to him he said: The front ZCP (8.5) will be a poor choice for the E9x M3, as its offset is ET44. You will need a huge 30mm spacer just to get it flush to the front fenders. That's the main reason I went ahead with the 4 rear (9.5) ZCP wheels (that they are deep concave is another benefit). ZCP Front Wheel Size - 19" x 8" - ET 27 running 225/ 40 / 19 Rear Wheel Size - 19" x 9.5" - ET 47 running 255 / 35 /19 Z4 3.5is 19 inch OEMs are 19x8 et 29 225 /35 /19 19x 9 et 40 255/30/ 19 Front 2mm more clearance on the strut side and the otuside edge of the wheel will extend an extra 2mm. 3.396% difference over the stock. Rear 13mm less Clearance on the strut side and the outside edge of the wheel will retract 1mm 3.857 % difference over the stock. |

Not so sure you've got your math correct on this one.
You're going from an ET 29 to an ET 27 in the front. That means your M3 wheels will retract 2mm on the Z4, not extend. In the rear, you're going ET 40 to ET 47, gaining 7mm, plus 1/4" (6.35mm) for the difference in wheel size for a total of 13.35mm extension, not 1mm retraction.

In the rear, because of the extension, your fender might hit the tire when the suspension compresses.

19x8 +29 and +27 is such a small difference it wont even matter. +27 will be closer to the fender than +29, youre higher profile tires may cause a prob, but i doubt it. 19x9 +40 and 19x9.5 +47 is EXACTLY the same as far as flushness to the fender.
