Thanks. I'll definitely compare. Does yours have the back up image issue though?

I have an older version... I emailed support... but they are off for the Chinese New Year. Haha. I guess I'll find out in a week or so if the update does anything for the back up image for me.

Hi.

100% I have NO issue with image shift. other than occasional blinking <1ms - once every 10mins or so. if you just sit and wait with eyes locked in.... still, would like to fix it. but I can live with it.

Haha.. well I hope that when I update my software it fixes the back up image... but doesn't add the blinking. I think the blinking would drive me nuts! I'll keep you posted.

Yes. I'm waiting for support to give me dip switch settings.

Unfortunately I couldn't upload this picture because of its dimensions... but this may help, if you have not seen it before.

I'm assuming the Z4 would be the settings on the 3rd line (HLLHL).

Thanks. I did come across it before but couldn't remember where to find it gain. Anyway I'm set to it but I should have tried a reset. Will try it on the weekend.

The blinking ws really bad yesterday on one drive but returned to normal overnight. I was on a very smooth road so no real bumps to indicate loose connection. But it was very hot. 38c.
Today was much cooler and I don't think I saw it blink while driving. Interesting... Have you had yours through hot months?

For those of you that are wanting to pull the trigger, their is currently a group buy going on in the E70 X5 forum for the unichip carplay. They are letting me add my Z4 to the group buy as well as my X5. If you guys want in, message me!

Finally received the software update from UniChip. The update fixed my back up camera issue.. and no blinking/flickering issue with the update that I've detected yet.

Go351, I went for a long drive today and noticed my screen flicker a few times. Might be the same problem you described as it is new to my system since the update. Did you inform UniChip tech support of the issue?

Hi.
Oh no. I was hoping that your firmware would fix my problem !

I have sent videos and switch settings to tech support. 2 days a go they got back to work. But I haven't heard back.

Will let you know.

In the mean time. I noticed that if it blinks , close the screen and open it again. Seems to stop for the rest of the drive.

Not great but better.

Maybe my issue was a fluke... I drove for quite a few hours before noticing any flickering. But then within the last hour of the drive, it probably flickered 6 times. It was at random intervals, so it would have been difficult to take a video. I'm assuming my issue wouldn't have anything to do with my switch settings since the system has not blinked previously and I haven't changed anything with the switches. I'll send them an email too so they know its not an isolated issue.

Hi guys,

I have the same Carplay box from Unichip and was in contact with Brian for the update on the firmware to fix the rear view camera issue.

The upgrade fixed the issue, but this morning the connection was extremely unstable, the box lost connection to mobile for at least 20 min. I had to reconnect at least 15 times to get a bit stable performance but the audio still sounded garbled.

It could be the extension cable or so, I am not sure but as bad as it is now was not before the upgrade.
I will inform Unichip support again about this.

Let you know

Would anyone be interested a Unichip group buy? I don't have the sufficient credentials here to host one, but seeing that the guys over at xbimmers have successfully executed one, I would like to test the waters here if there is enough interest here as well with someone with established trustworthiness to execute the group buy so that we can buy these for half the price.

I haven't driven my Z4 since that post. Has been constant rain where I live. I'll post an update after I drive it again. Did you manage to send support a video? They asked me to send a video. I feel like that'll be tough if my blinking stays intermittent. It wasn't happening at predictable intervals.

No problems with flickering screen since last update.
However, still booting problems.
- mostly when I start the car early mornings, more stable a second time during the day.
- when I start the car and connect the cable I do get garbled sound and no picture and disconnects.
- It takes about 15-20 to get a stable connection.
- Have to reconnect the cable at least 10 times.

I was thinking, I still use the car BT to connect the phone and use the car Headunit audio. I do still sync my phone contacts to the CIC headunit.
This could cause the startup problems.

I am running TomTom beta for CarPlay, this may have some bugs still as well

Keep you posted
