Re-lease experience (not lease extension)

For the people who lease their cars, does anybody has experience with re-lease?

This is not lease extension which you can get up to 6 months if you order a new BMW.

My lease will be up in couple of months and since there is no '17 or '18 Z4 I can lease, I would like to re-lease my '15. This exists and I am asking if anybody has experience with this? How much was the payment difference?

I am not sure how it works in the US, but in Canada it works like this. When your lease is up you can do a buyback or have your dealer assume the car at the buyback price and then re-lease it to you. It will be leased at the prevailing rates. Or, you can take a risk and reject your buyback and ask the dealer to submit a bid on the car. BMW finance will then accept or reject the bid within 24 hours. If they reject the bid the car is gone. If they accept, then you may end up with a better deal. I have seen this work on a 328 that had a 20k buyback. Dealer put in a bid of 16k and got the car...

There is no release option. The deperciate value and maintance program does not make sense for them. You should get a car loan and purchase it.
