What mileage are you getting now?
I've been pretty consistent, mainly highway driving (90%), 9L/100km or 26mpg, I guess it's not bad for an inline-6 turbo.
I read that the new GR86/BRZ has about the same mileage which is insane since it's only a NA boxer 4, does that Subaru engine drink gas or do the cars have a leak in the fuel tank?

I get about 28 mpg and that's about 50/50 city/highway. If I watch my speed on the highway, I can get close to 33 mpg. But then I have the 4 cyl turbo.

PS is this an acceptable # for inline-6 turbos? I wonder what's the benchmark?

I've found I can usually beat the EPA numbers by one or two if I avoid heavy acceleration. So I'd say you're doing pretty good. Gerry

Completely stock and then later mhd stage 2, always averaged like 19mpg...70% city/traffic which I guess falls inline with EPA ratings.
On the note of subaru, I had a '17 STI and it got 17mpg on the same commute lol that was brutal. Last edited by ray7792; 07-06-2022 at 05:44 PM.. |

Speaking of fuel prices, I never really kept a good tab on things, but obviously it is MUCH more expensive now. i'm guestimating that it is now 50% more expensive for me to fill the tank, does that sound about right where you guys are...?

I feel bad for our Canadian and European siblings during these times of increasing petrol costs lol
It's about $70 a tank right now...actually just went down a little this week so probably $65 now. But yes, 30-40% more than just a year ago. |
