Exclamation Aerial Base removal

I want to change the standard aerial for a DAB / FM aerial, but I can’t find a way to get to underside of the rear wing??

I’ve had the plastic inner wheel arch liner out nothing!
I had the boot linings out still nothing!
And then I went from behind the seat! I can’t see a way to get to it ‘HELP’

Thanks

Are you planning to use a different head unit?

DAB is fed by separate aerials already?

Can't identify the location of pics 2 & 3. Any ideas?

Also, Where should I start to remove the rear window regulator as indicated as a preliminary task? (by removing the trunk's left hand side trim? Behind the driver's seat? Any other place?)

To access the underside of the rear wing in your BMW for the aerial replacement:

1. **Remove the Rear Wheel:**
- Lift the rear of the car using a jack and secure it on jack stands.
- Locate and remove the rear wheel to gain access to the wheel well.

2. **Inspect the Wheel Well:**
- Look for any visible screws, clips, or fasteners securing the rear wing liner. Use a flashlight if necessary.
- Remove any fasteners you find, allowing you to partially or fully remove the wheel well liner.

3. **Check Boot Area:**
- Inspect the boot area for additional fasteners or access points. Sometimes there are hidden screws or clips that secure the wing liner.

4. **Behind the Seat:**
- Since you've already checked behind the seat, focus on any panels or covers that might conceal access points to the rear wing area.

5. **Consult the Manual:**
- Refer to your car's manual for any specific instructions on accessing components in the rear wing area. It might provide insights or steps you haven't considered.

6. **Professional Assistance:**
- If you're still having difficulty, consider consulting a BMW specialist.

Remember to work carefully and consult your car's manual for precise instructions. If in doubt, seeking professional assistance ensures the job is done accurately and without causing any damage to your Car.

its looks like its behind the rear window regulator...
repair manual says that you have to remove it before... and that involves dismantling some interior trim and rear wheel arch cover etc...

Adding a pdf with instructions how to remove window regulator...
Note the "Necessary preliminary tasks:" list. it has multiple things you have to take apart first to get to it...

@KennyP I can't thank you enough. Couldn't find this anywhere else.

Now I just have to dismantle half of my car just to replace my broken antenna base! Thank you, German engineers!
