We all know that driving in neighborhood at night showing off your exhaust is extremely disrespectful. My wife literally made me sell my z06 after our babies kept waking up at night due to some douchebag charger/hellcat owners flying down our subdivision walking up the entire neighborhood. (I live in Michigan so not many M'a cursing around here) My kids used to fall asleep after hours of walking them around and then wake up from hearing those damn cars. It was such a piss off. I hated loud exhausts ever since.

Today I discovered another place where we should be respectful and not do any WOT runs. Close to a cemetery. I go visit my 22 year old brothers grave almost daily. It's a place people come to grieve and cry. They should not be disturbed by cars flying around the corner. Be respectful to the dead and those whose are left behind that are grieving.

I don't see how the dead would care.

The living on the other hand.

In general, people get pretty idiotic with WOT runs in cities. That's basically where the police don't want people to do it, around other people. Especially high traffic areas, residential areas, places with lots of people, etc.

i think its ok to do WOT throttle runs but they should be outside of suburbs and neighborhoods. especially after the sun goes down.

Drive it like you stole it...
Drive it like it was meant to be ridden...

These cars cannot be fully appreciated on U.S. roads, because they were made to do more than the laws on them allow for.

But know and accept the risk in doing so!
Invest in a good RD!

And don't do it on and in tight streets with houses! There are plenty of roads and traditional racing spots, let alone tracks to get your ya-ya's out!

1) Call the police if people are routinely racing down your street. Call often if they do it often.

2) No way in hell I'd sell my car because my wife demanded it and sure as hell not because other people are doing things she doesn't approve of.

You might want to work on the relationship if the wife has that much power. I surely wouldn't do that to my wife and she wouldn't to me.

I've got a 2 mile stretch of road close by that gets very light traffic around 7 PM, specially on weekends. Only go WOT on it to do 60-130 log runs for my tuner when it's clear. Other than that, I only got WOT at the track. I do NOT go fast on residential areas as it is extremely disrespectful.

My wife tolerated my 107DB cold start on my F87 because she knew that I was a big fan of the exhaust.

My neighbors tolerated that same cold start at 4am when I had to drive to the airport because I wasn't a dick about it and they knew I was a "car guy"

I'm with XutvJet in that I can't imagine a scenario where my wife would make me sell something I enjoy because of actions of other people.

That being said, I can empathize with trying to have a quiet moment with your brother and people being hooligans. Get it on video, call the cops.

Funny, I usually drive very tame but whenever I get into a quiet neighborhood or cemetery I can't help but go WOT. Literally the only two places I fully enjoy my loud car.

You guys are awesome. I'm not on SM so these forums are my only online community.

I don't regret selling my z06. I ended up getting another e39 M5 when the prices were still reasonable. So that was a good call by wife. lol.

Well if you live near Sterling Heights, all they drive there is Hellcats and chargers.

I am in Troy and it is very hard to find a spot to go WOT. I usually have to drive pretty far.

I can, and worse!

But, that's one of the myriad of reasons I cut my losses. Now I can do whatever the hell I want, and no one can say no. Except my dog, but she's pretty accomodating.

(Not suggesting anything to the OP)

I live within earshot of I-96 in Livonia. its a pretty regular occurrence to hear cars and bikes going full send. When I can hear a bike tapping the rev limiter through several gears, you know he's gotta be hauling some major ass.

I also regularly get people cutting through my neighborhood at high rates of speed. The noise doesn't bother me, but the speeding does. We have a ton of kids in this neighborhood. If that makes me a Karen/Chad, so be it. We don't need kids getting hurt/killed because you wanna go 60MPH through a residential neighborhood with street parking.

I live in Michigan like the OP and as mentioned we have many douchebags who drive Chargers/Challengers who think every drive is a reenactment of the movie chase scene in Bullitt. Some nutsacks around where I live have decided to show their best Picasso skills using their tires in every single intersection.

Now get off my damn lawn...

I was cruising down the lodge sometime last year. In the fast lane, going about 85 or so. There was a good bit of traffic. I look in my rear view, and see a challenger hauling some major ass coming up behind me. had to be doing over 120. Needless to say, I got the fuck out of the way. I had my family in the car with me, and honestly it wasnt anywhere near safe to be going that fast.

He blew by me, and a bit up the way, cut across 4 lanes of traffic (cutting off several cars) without even slowing down and hit the off ramp at over 100. Since the lodge is a "dropped" freeway, the offramp was uphill. He hit it late, and launched his car in the air shooting sparks everywhere. Somehow managing to avoid hitting anyone, or the wall.

I'm convinced he had to be running from someone.

Idiot drivers around here.
