downpipe vs x pipe

Hey Guys,

I'm new to the Z and to turbo cars and was wondering where was the biggest restriction to HP gains in the Z. (I got the Z4 sdrive35i). Is the downpipes or the X pipe? I have on order an ESS tune but wanted to do downpipes or x pipes too. I don't care for exhaust note much..just want more power hence no Eisennman full exhaust system. Also, what have people done with their intercoolers and which aftermarket larger intercoolers have you guys gotten that has been awesome.

Thanks in advance.
