Mixing Run Flats w/ PSS
I bought a 2011 z4 sdrive35is about 6 months ago and it looks like the OEM run flats in the rear will be needing replaced soon while the ones up front still have plenty of life left.
Now I know ideally all 4 tires should be the same brand/type, but would it be possible to replace the rears w/ non run flats... like the Michelin PSS and wait until the fronts run out of tread to replace those with non run flats as well? thanks for the input |

This was just discussed here a week ago:
http://e89.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1223570 As I suggested in that thread, either find a couple of used RFTs (they're quite easy to find and reasonably priced on the internet; mainly because nobody wants them!) or just bite the bullet and replace all with non-RFT. You won't believe the difference! Remember the old drinking adage "Never mix, never worry". |

I wouldn't. RFT have stiffer side walls. The combo would more than likely make for a pretty interesting ride especially at hard cornering and braking.
