My Z4 is already paid off and have spent considerable amount of money on performance upgrades, suspension, wheels, wrap, etc. I've had the car for 5 years now and plan to keep it until I run it to the ground. Spending a little over a couple grand has a lot more value to me since I've customized it to my likings and don't plan to sell.

How did the install go, flpnout?
Mind sharing your experience as to if the dealership needed to order extra parts, or if everything old could just be transferred over. How many labor hours they charged for an install (possibly something that is a DIY?) |

My Z4 has seen many cars come in and out of the garage, but she has always stayed. LOL I'm content with 2014 R8 and 2010 Z4.

It should all work out. Excited to get my car refreshed again. I will drop it off sometime next week, unless I have to be out of the country for work.

I'd rather get the post-lift lights from the US as over here we don't have the orange LED sidelights incorporated. Feels like I'd be getting less for my money otherwise.

That looks incredible, how much do they charge for it? Do they offer a "pure white" Lightdesign as well? Those are LED Clusters as I see it? How long will they last untill the first one dies and leaves a "black spot" in the rings? |

This is the very first Z4 e89 conversion theyve done, so you'll be happy to know they can do this for you too now. It'll prob be around $850-900 all up I assume, I had a discount only because I was the pilot. I asked about the warranties, I think it comes with 1 year but they havent had any issues with these before, given its a tight cluster (RGB is wider) you could probably go with 1 LED dieing anyway as its quite bright For me I think this is way better than getting the LCI headlights retrofitted which I dont think look that great anyway. Square angel eyes FTW |

They look mean. I like those a lot. I'd have to get a whiter bulb though as its a bit blue to get away with in the UK.
Given the lenses/rings look a bit deeper than OEM, do they cut into the Xenon main light pattern at all? |

Looks good! I get all the parts for my LCI headlights today. I plan to have them installed at the end of the week.

Looks great.
I love it. Nice design and Bright color. 8000K is always going to be very blue on the Kelvin scale. 6500K is daylight blue so going higher in temp will become a cooler (more blue) the color. Higher the number the cooler (More blue) the color. Transversley the lower the number 3500K, 3000K, 2700K the warmer (more yellow) the color.

Just installed my LCI headlights. DRL works just fine when headlights aren't on but DRLs will flicker when headlights are turned on. In the process of updating my Daten files so I can program it to 2014 software. For those of you guys that did it successfully, did you guys experience the same thing before coding?

Just figured out what's needed to do the swap.
My car is a early 09 build for reference. You will just need the full headlight assembly, wiring is not necessary. If your car was built before 09/09 (i think) then you have the FRM2 Footwell Module and you will need a new module to get it to work properly with the LEDs. However, if you have some version of the FRM3 (lots of variations) then you won't need to replace the footwell module. That should clear up who is "P&P". Coding was done by Niv @ BMCoding (support@bmcoding.com). Highly recommended, he just spent a few hours trying to figure it out with the FRM2 and we concluded a FRM3 is needed. Niv knows the ins and outs of the E89 already so other options won't be a problem. Last edited by Drew@Sonic MS; 11-06-2014 at 11:15 PM.. |
