Z4 e89 M Sport Standard Suspension
VIN Decoder shows my MSport Z4 e89 as having 'Standard Suspension'.
Will this be Standard MSport Suspension which is Adaptive Suspension (compared to non MSport cars) or is it the standard Suspension that is on any Z4? If its the latter, why on earth when paying for an MSport wouldn't they pay a few extra hundred £ for Adaptive?? |

Standard suspension was the taller rider height with softer springs..
MSport was lowered springs (by about 10mm) with revised dampers. Adaptive had more or less same ride height as MSport but replaced conventional dampers with version with electronically controlled rebound / compression damping on conventional springs. Adaptive was only stock on 35is.. All other models had either standards or MSport with either MSport or adaptive as upgrade options. Like many BMW ideas, the adaptive dampers sound great in theory but in practice not quite so good.. They tend to weep and fail quite early on and for many there damping characteristics left much to be desired..
