Tesla EV has same brakes, discs and pads and as heavier car with the batteries there is more wear on them so must require more maintenance and replacement and I heard servicing on them is expensive, need to discharge to work safely on them.

You can probably get 100k on same brakes on Tesla if you use regen

Question. I would really appreciate an honest answer. Why is it that people from your way of thinking always use the word “fear” or a derivative of that word when describing THE reason people have different or even opposite beliefs than yourselves?

Because terms like "legitimate concern" or "reasoned conclusion" Sound too much like a measured approach and/or rational thought process.

It's a derivative of gaslighting : to make the other persons approach appear flawed or emotion based, even though the facts used are factually true.

It would seem inferior if I said "I was fearful the results of my test", rather than "I expect the test results will prove I have cancer". Why use logic when emotion can be needlessly added to a debatable subject with truthful elements?

As far as I know you might never need to replace brakes if you use regen......thats what I read. I drove EV6 and I remember regen worked pretty good. You can come to complete stop without even using brakes

I got 150K on the brakes of my last Hybrid car, and the rears were still about 40% at that point.

Tires and shocks wear out faster though, carrying all that extra weigh with you for every mile you drive. Shocks were truly done by 80K, and tires were about 65% of the life span compared to similar vehicle it replaced tha ran the exact same tires.

And that's fine. It's never going to make sense to buy a new car unless you are going to downsize to a cheap econobox and even then probably not if it's new. That's just reality. But the other reality is that people are going to buy new cars, just to have something new, to get new tech, etc. No, it's not going to fit every case.

Speaking to the poster above, it's the constant posts about the lithium mines, turning a blind eye to all the destruction and effect of drilling oil out of the ground and ocean. I remember plain as day that someone was posting a green field saying that it was tar-sands. No, go look on google earth in Canada in Alberta. That post was blatantly misrepresenting the issue, just reposting some meme they found on facebook or something. The ones constantly saying they can't be used in the cold. Then there are the people that constantly claim that the EVs can't be "fun" vehicles...meanwhile certain ones consistently do well in AutoX and a few other races. Same thing with a lot of the clinging to hydrogen. It might be a source for certain things in the future, but it's wildly impractical for most personal/auto transportation. It's this and more, all the crazy attempts to try and discredit it. Hey, you got actual information, sure, post it, but it's clear that most are just re-posting some facebook meme or new story they read on a site with an agenda. I'm not afraid of it. I have two ICE cars that I like and an EV may work for one of my uses, but I'm in no hurry.

All the constant bashing gets tiring though. It's like certain people are desperate to try and disprove this technology that is here and now...and only going to get better.

Every week or every few days, someone is posting a new "the sky is falling!" post about EVs.

I must be a member of no less than 10 forums as of today. Over the last 20 years, probably 15. I am heavily active on five. I want you to know that you are by far the most active, engaging, thought out and consistent troll I’ve ever seen in any of them. In fact, second place to you as a distant second place. I think what sets you so far part is I can tell you really enjoy trolling. Take this last post I’m responding to for example. There’s no doubt in my mind you know what you wrote is total BS but you also know it will tweak at least three or four people on this thread and they will come back and argue with you on it.
