Tires

Anyone had to replace their Original Bridgestone tires yet due to wear? If so, how many miles were on the tires?

i've got 10000+ on my car and no perceptible wear yet...and thats mostly autobahn so take that as whatever. I am one of a few people who like these RFT's apparently. much better than on my 08 3er

I am thinking we Z4 owners are getting the latest generation RFTs that have slightly softer sidewalls so the ride is better than the previous generation. Good to hear you like yours, this gives me hope. Like you the ones on my 3ers were very hard especially when the temps are cold.

15,000 miles and they still look good, but like MilitaryE89, most of them Autobahn between 70-100 mph

Did you get the same size as the OEM RFTs? Is there much difference?

I'd like to get the R1R. We don't get much rain where I live (except for this year

Test driving the Z4 35i with 19" RFT's proved to be more comfortable than my '07 E92 335i on 17" RFT's ... so yes, you are probably right !

+1

Not sure about the 3rd generation part, but E89 with 19" RTF's was a lot comfortable on bumpy roads than my E85 with 17" RFT's. Of course the suspension is softer too, but the car I test drove had the M suspension and I had it set to Sport+.

I replaced my RFTs at delivery with a set of Yokohama ENVigor UHP all season tires. So far, so good. Ride is very nice and handling does not seem to suffer at all.

Where is the cheapest place to get tires online?
I reckon the RFT's can't be to cheap!

you don't have to get runflats. I strongly recommend michelin pilot sport a/s plus tires. roughly $100 less per tire than stock bridgstones and you should easily get 45k miles out of them.

In the US a set of RFTs installed will cost between $1500 and $1800.
