Z4 Strut Bars
Hey Everyone, Just installed a Strutbar from Luxon. This looks like the most sturdy one on the market and I like the fact that it is a 1 piece design.

I like it. Looks great in the engine bay. Performs even better I assume under agressive conditions.

yeah. an ideal design would go from the top of the strut tower using the 3 strut mounting bolts to the firewall.

I looks like he added this bar to the existing stock bars. should be stiffer overall.

Feel great, really stiffened it up a bit. I personally think it works and serves its purpose.
And it looks great in the engine bay. =] |

That's what I was going to say. You took a "V" and made it a triangle, tying all three points together. Can't hurt. |

Don't think this will fit the N54 engine cars properly. I saw it on the internet and the space behind the airbox is too small...the airbox will likely hit the bar as it moves during driving.

I have no experience with this strut bar in particular, but they are generally very easy to install, often just loosening the nuts at the top of the strut tower, popping this thing, then re-tightening the nuts on top of this. And I don't imagine you would need to do an alignment. |

I think you might need a front wheel alignment if you have removed the centering pins (eg for alignment) on the top of the strut towers because you are removing the bolts there too.

The install took about 10 mins and you will not need to realign your car.
This is designed to fit the N54's thus the curvature on the strut bar to avoid contacting the airbox. Overall I feel a slight difference in handling and I am happy with the purchase. |

barr
I am not a mechanical engineer nor a structural engineer.
But that piece look like 2 pieces of sheet metal rolled over some tube shape and spark welding. and both ends are solder with the mounting 3 points bracket. Probably not as strong as one solid piece. my 2 cents |
