seat belt on, no passenger; airbag disabled. what happened?
So my friend was playing with the seat. All of a sudden my gauge cluster gave me all sorts of errors and warnings. Seat belt light on, no passenger, seat not buckled pinging, airbag disabled. I dropped off the passenger and the seat belt sound was still playing. I readjusted the seat, disconnected the battery, and resetted the OBD2

Since you are looking for a reply, I thought I would tell my story which may help. I purchased a CPO X3 a while ago. From day one, I was having that same problem. They were saying it was a recall on the mat in the Passenger seat. After changing the mat multiple times( they said it may have been a bad batch of mats), they decided to try to re-upholster the seat. No good. Changed a harness that runs to the seat, no good. After 2 years of going back and forth to the dealership, I asked them about using the lemon law. That is when they decided to get the approval from BMW to replace every harness from the front of the car all the way to the seat.( I'm guessing there are multiple harnesses). It cost them over $3,000, but it fixed the problem They still didn't know where the problem was. Luckily it didn't cost me a dime, only my time to travel back and forth to the dealership.
