Trunk won't close completely
2011 Z4 35i ... I noticed that the trunk stopped closing completely. It closes and locked. But not fully. Pushing won't help. Nothing is stuck. I found this thread and following the procedure:

That was a good link. I wasn't aware that this has been a problem

I opened up the trunk mechanism and found the wires snapped on driver's side of the mechanism. Pulled out copper wires a little bit, twisted and insulated them. Mechanism tested ok. Put everything back and trunk closes perfectly now

Not to be repetitive. My roof works fine if I operate it from inside the car with the buttons. But if I stand outside the car with the top down (and I have a Smarttop) and press the key FOB, the roof goes through the close procedure all the way to when the trunk closes, latches ... and then proceeds to immediately unlatch. The Smarttop close procedure immediately aborts. Red light flashes on the inside console buttons. If I press teh button to open, the top opens properly. Then press the console close button, top closes perfectly fine. This has to do only with when the top is closing using the Smarttop. Thanks, Filippo
