I guess I had bad information, ty for the update. I am intrigued by the power and a manual transmission but I have little faith in the quality and reliability.
The powertrain is a carryover from the prior CTS-V, expect similar reliability minus the tech issues from the older CUE infotainment which has since been replaced.

I did last week. I traded a drive in one for a drive in one of my cars.

Let's just say, probably keeping my M2C and not getting a CT4-V BW.

I posted on a Blackwing FB Group and someone responded promptly and gave me a real experience in the car.

why's that?
First, I like the slightly smaller look of the M2C and believe that it looks like a more-special car. Second, for my use case—fun MT daily driver—the M2C gives me everything I need/want in such a car. Third, there was an experience I had in the Caddy on a really rough road that almost made me a little nauseous—and I was driving. I am guessing it might have something to do with the Magniride or whatever it's called. I am guessing that my inner ear was expecting bumps from the rough road and the car's chassis did something to counteract it and it through off my inner balance or something.

Of course, all of this may just be in my head.

Probably in your head. GM's magnetic dampers are basically the best in the business. BMW should have adopted the tech years ago. There is a reason Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, and Ford did. CT4 and CT5 Blackwing both have new Magneride 4.0.

Cool story bro! You said that this was "typical" for Caddy, so I suppose you can show a whole bunch of examples of them making a car with "too much HP"?

I agree with you. A big, heavy four-door sedan with so much hp should have an AWD. This is not your light, controllable and tossable GT3. They should go try out a Charger Hellcat on a wet road and see how that works for them.

You are so right I have trouble staying grounded w my z06 which has 100 plus less HP. I am sure this Caddy is a fun car or drive but needs AWD and reliability is going to be suspect. Plus Cadillac service can leave a lot to be desired at some dealerships

As opposed to the "down-selling" of work from your typical BMW SA?

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Lol ok.

It was in response to your 3 pedals comment... but happy for you and your 4 Pintos.

Yeah, I got that, but Jeezus, that color combo.

This thread has again turned into the "American car... but the interior sucks" meme. It's just amusing. For a performance car, the purpose of the interior is to help you drive it better. From that perspective, I don't see where the Caddy fails vs. the Bimmer.
