Procede switch to ess?

Has anyone switched from procede v5 to the ess flash tune. If so how do you like the flash compared to the procede.

Mostly all of the DCT n54 Z4 owners I know have switched from Procede/JB4 to ESS. The flash is smoother, no hickups/fault codes/limp modes, its trouble free and harder to detect by the dealership and also you can flash your car at home via the the OBD II port with the handheld flasher. Also have in mind that ESS is for years in the BMW tuning industry ESS a pioneer and a guarantee for quality products and power.

How does the flash feel power wise in comparison and does the reader clear codes when you flash back to stock?

The power difference is huge, the car keeps pulling and pulling, especially with the stage 2 for sure its alot more smoother than a piggy back cause especially with a DCT gearbox the piggybacks never seem to function properly. You will be pulling away from SL55 AMG's and slightly modded M3's with ease. About the code clearing, it does not have a code clearing functionality but according to ESS, the software is engineered in a way that it gives the most power the n54 can safely handle thus it gives no tuning related codes but you can always get a code clearing tool to clear codes and shadow codes before the visit to the dealerships mechanics. Just so you know, even the COBB accessport with the code clearing functionality fails to clear 100% of the shadow codes as reported by forum members so a code clearing tool is a must have in this case.

Done that.
The v4/v5 produces more power and is more brutal than ess st1 obviously due to different boost targets. I haven't yet updated to st2 due to summer temps over here but I believe they will produce equal power numbers as the st2 targets 15psi.
The driveability difference is night and day though. No hiccups, slippage, worries, codes, strange noises, waiting for a new map and the throttle management is more linear and predictable even compared to stock. According to ess a few cycles of ignition on/off will clear any codes when switching maps.
Again the v5 is more brutal and has some can features that you might miss, but with ess you will enter harmony again.

Actually it targets 14psi but the cool thing is that ESS is working on Downpipes/intercooler/turbo upgrades (as told by ESS Europe and Roman, the ESS dealer in NA) so we're looking maybe at a stage 3 software release in the future \
Why dont you shoot Roman a PM on these forums, his profile link is http://e89.zpost.com/forums/member.php?u=23143
Im sure he knows much better than us and will be glad to help you out.

It 's 15 psi according to asbjorn and natalie @ess and the codes are cleared by cycling the ignition, it's written in the manual. What else do you want to know?
