reality..

especially first part of all races.. anyone want/can see how smooth Lewis is on braking, lower apex speed but more straight exits he is doing to preserve his tires.. sometimes even staying away from the curbs.. but its the car..

You have a cool story too. This is about racing so why don't you, and everyone else for that matter, not inject politics or race into the discussion. You insinuate and then back off. Nobody knows anyone here personally so it's a reach at best.

I don't like Lewis for mixing politics into F1 AND anyone else who injects politics into sports.

As far as driving talent, absolutely he is awesome. Never once did I ever think that he was not BUT, I think Max can give him a run for his money this year. I think it is BORING when one just dominates, just like the MS years in Ferrari. Much more entertaining when there is a close fight: SEN vs PRO, HAK vs MS, ALO vs MS, ALO vs LH etc.

Politics and sports go hand in hand and always have. The ancient as well as modern Olympics were laced in politics with the modern Olympics SPECIFICALLY designed to "bring nations together in peaceful congress."

To say that politics isn't or shouldn't be involved in sports is a bit naive.

Because it once was, or always is therefore it must continue may strike a naive undertone as well. Psychologically there are reasons (see: platform) why many humans choose to do this, but I nor anyone else should have to accept it.

Kidding aside, RB has no excuses anymore. Their car is just as fast (if not faster in a lot of areas). The difference when things are this close is the driver first and then the team IMO. Max still can't manage tires during a race consistently like HAM or others for that matter. Also, RB doesn't have the best in race prep or strategy. You even hear Max complain about all the time the last few years.

Things are still close enough that they could change, but RB better figure it out quick as HAM is about to pull a full race lead in the points shortly. Could come down to how many DNFs each side ends up with in the end.
Guys , I couldn't agree more !!!

What happens at the end of an F1 race...on the podium?
What happens at the beginning of a sporting event in this and most other countries?
What is painted on the side of a F1 car in a prominent position next to the driver.
What is sewn onto their uniforms?
I could go on and on.

Politics is woven into the very fabric of sport. Especially this sport. It's regulated by one of the most political organizations in the world: The FIA.

Right that's really funny ! On 3 wheels ..And his car threw debris , and sharp pieces of carbon fiber all over the track .
If it was another driver , he would get a 5 place penalty for putting the other drivers in danger !

Actually the Olympics were designed to bring together Nations REGARDLESS of their political beliefs, meaning they put aside their differences and not try to convince the other of how right their beliefs are, and simply enjoy sports together.

I would suggest that all sport should absolutely take an anti racism stance.
And I find it quite unsettling to read criticism of Hamilton for his efforts in this area and question the motivation behind that criticism.
At the same time I understand the reluctance of Sport organising bodies to get involved in overt demonstrations...where do you draw the line between what is a just cause to demonstrate pre-race and what isn't.

Sometimes woke can be taken too far.
Politics should be kept out of F1 just advertisers on the side of the car and race suit equipment, no political messages.

this has nothing to do with politics at this stage.. saying we re all equal, thinking about sustainability and more is just a humanist approach..

even if you say that it is political.. F1 is happy about this, Merc' changed his traditional color from silver to black for it.. maybe not forever but for now.. and Lewis brought this to F1.. i dont see any harm saying "We Race As One".. for motorsports or from brands side.. if brands wouldnt like it, they d go away already.. if they re staying, means they re ok with it as well.. they dont pay for something they dont like..

and im happy that F1 is drawing some attention to such topics.. we re all humans in the end..

HAM and Toto knew that the tires from the Merc were ready to fall apart .
But they didn't pit !

Is that tire management ?
No way !

The problem was ...MAX was out there , chasing HAM down !

In contracts, we call this an exclusionary statement. They can do whatever the fk they want.

If you don't think the Olympics is political, go and read some of the articles about site selection. ALL global organizations are political and they are political of the worst stripe: The most competently corrupt politicians who have excelled beyond their local and national markets are on the world stage and run these organizations.

Max and Redbull might have the better car but

Lewis and Mercedes are the better team and have better racecraft.

Looking forward to title number 8 this year for the GOAT!

If you want to use your platform as an F1 7 time champ to send a different message go right ahead champ.

Hamilton is making people see and confront the world we live in. I am happy he has shed a light on some of these issues even if its only a passing thought for many people who would likewise never given it a moment.
