Drove mine all through the winter last year, Had no issues with the snow we got BUT we only had about 5 inches on the ground at any one time. The car is wonderfully stable in the snow, very predictable, fairly easy to slide and even easier to regain control. I do turn the DSC off when I want to have fun. Biggest issue is with the height of the front chin spoiler, which acts like a snow plow so you must be careful in this area, especially when there is a chance that the snow has frozen or crusted over. The underbody panels do smooth the snow down a lot, and it is possible to unload the wheels as it seems the model for the underbody panels was a toboggan. Planning on driving it this winter and expect no issues unless the snow gets deep. Running the BMW Winter Tire package on 290 wheels with Pirelli Winter 210 Sotozero tires.
So bottom Line: Great in the snow with the BMW Winter Tire package, but not great in a lot of snow due to ground clearance issues |

thanks Chuck! I was thinking buying a beater car because I thought even with snows the Z would suck, but wanted to hear others opinions.

I drove an IS350 (300 hp, RWD) through 4 Connecticut winters without any problem, with proper snow tires (B'stone LM25). It was no problem as long as I restrained my right foot. Even drove on I-84 with 6" of snow, while 4x4 pickups and SUVs were skidding off the road around me. One has to remember the #1 rule of snow driving: go slow!
